No doubt many of you will remember the story of the birth of Zoe Ireland Drake, the baby born in Dublin's Rotunda hospital after her mother went into labour early during a flight. Well, now Zoe and her family are looking for our help.

Two months after welcoming daughter Zoe in unexpected circumstances, parents Jenny and Gavin have launched a crowd-funding campaign to help them get home to their family in Tennessee, US.

The couple were on their way home from Paris when, shortly into their flight, Jenny began experiencing contractions. Their pilot diverted their flight to Ireland, where Zoe was born just 25 weeks into Jenny's pregnancy.

While Zoe has spent the past number of months receiving treatment, naturally her parents are eager to get home to their native Tennessee. However, as Zoe will be unable to make the flight without medical attention, the family needs to take a medical flight - which is due to set them back $67,000.

As their insurance will not cover the flight, and the self-employed couple have been put under serious financial pressure over the past number of months, they have turned to the public for help with donations.

On their Go Fund Me page (link here), a friend of the couple wrote: "We are all so thankful and feel so blessed that they are able to be together, and that Zoe is doing so well, but they are ready to be back home in Tennessee as a family."

With a three-year-old son back at home, currently staying with family, you can absolutely see where the Drakes are coming from.

So far, over $23,000 has been raised - let's hope that the generosity and kindness of strangers will grant this wish for the family.
