A heartbroken family, who laid their six-year-old son to rest in Willesden north-west London on Monday November 2nd, have endured further upset following the theft of a laptop which contained much-loved images of their little boy.

The grief stricken father at the centre of this case had set up the computer in order to display photographs of his son, but left the device unattended in the church as he and other family members travelled to Kensal Green cemetery for their son's burial.

Commenting on the crime, a spokesperson for Scotland Yard said officials were seeking a middle-aged man who was filmed removing the laptop from its carrier bag in Pentecostal City Church before placing it in a plastic bag.

Offering members of the public further details into the event, she explained: "On Monday November 2, the boy's 34-year-old father attended the Pentecostal City Church, in Scrubs Lane, for his son's funeral service."

"After the funeral service finished, at about 1pm the mourners left the church to go to Kensal Rise for the burial ceremony."

"When they returned to the church they discovered the laptop had been stolen," she explained as she urged the public to come forward with any information which could lead to the safe recovery of the computer.

Speaking on behalf of the heartbroken family, Detective Constable Ben Kirkham, from Hammersmith and Fulham CID said: "The theft of this laptop with the father's precious photos of his son has obviously and understandably caused huge upset for the entire family who are already going through a very difficult time."

It has been established that the man captured on the CCTV footage is black, walks with a distinctive limp and was wearing a black hooded jacket, blue jeans and a white hooded top.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Det Con Kirkham on 020 8246 2505 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
