Police in the UK have taken to social media in order to express their disgust over a discovery made in a Greenwich park this week.

Uploading an image of two Pringles containers and multiple bags of cannabis, Greenwich MPS drew the public's attention to the fact illegal substances were found in a family-oriented public space.

Take the opportunity to address those responsible, they tweeted: "MPSSpecials found these in a child's play park - whoever hid them there should be ashamed."

The upload sparked much discussion among social media users and the police, with the latter insisting: "We'll be heading back to hopefully catch in the act whoever it is that thinks this is an acceptable use of a family facility!"

Clearly incensed by the lack of regard shown for the safety of the country's younger generation, the police assured the public the incident would no go uninvestigated.

Responding to a member of the public whi had been made aware of the discovery, they wrote: "Rest assured we will keep our eyes peeled for whoever put it there - we want safe environments for children & their families."

We dread to think of the implications had a toddler gotten their hands on the offending material
