The disappearance of a 25-year-old woman in Buckinghamshire has caused considerable concern among police officials this weekend.

Ella Pecko, who is due to give birth next week, failed to return to her home in High Wycombe on Friday evening having left it earlier that day.

The young woman, who was last seen in the town centre, has not been in contact with friends or family since Friday morning.

Speaking on behalf of Thames Valley police, a spokesman explained the urgency of Ella's case, saying: "Ella is 35 weeks pregnant and there are obvious concerns because of this."

Providing the public with a description of Ella, he continued: "She is white, about 5 foot 10 inches tall and of slim build. She has long blonde hair and blue eyes."

It is understood that Ella, who has links with Aylesbury, was wearing a brown coat with a fur collar and brown Ugg boots when last seen.

Ella does not drive so it is assumed she is on foot or has been using public transport.

The Thames Valley spokesman appealed directly to the missing woman, saying: "Ella, if you are reading this message then please make contact with your family or the police by calling 101. We just want to know that you are safe and well."

Urging members of the public to come forward with any information they may have, he continued: "If anyone has any information about Ella's whereabouts then please contact the Force via 101. If you don't want to speak directly to the police you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."

In an effort to placate members of the public who may be reluctant to divulge information regarding Ella's whereabouts, he finished by saying: "No personal details are taken, information is not traced or recorded and you will not go to court.."

Our thoughts go out to Ella's family and friends at this time, and we are hoping she will be found safe and well very soon.
