Police in England have launched a search for Arthur Simpson-Kent, following the discovery of three bodies in the search for actress Sian Blake and her two young sons.

According to reports, police are now treating it as a murder case, after discovering three bodies in the garden of the former Eastenders star’s Kent home.

The identities of the deceased have yet to be confirmed or revealed to the public, and no formal suspects have been named in the case.

Today’s sad news comes after a widespread search was carried out to locate Ms Blake – who played Frankie Pierre in the soap – and her two sons, eight-year-old Zachary and four-year-old Amon.

Ms Blake and her sons were last seen on December 13 in the East London area. Mr Simpson-Kent, who is the father of the boys, was interviewed shortly after their disappearance, before going missing himself a number of days after.

Police issued a number of public appeals for help in tracing Ms Blake and her sons, before making the tragic discovery today.

Addressing today’s update, Detective Superintendent Paul Monk told media outside Scotland Yard: “Sadly, today we found three bodies in the back garden of their home address and as such, this is now a murder investigation.”

“Formal identification has yet to take place, it's too early to speculate, but of course the family has been told and this is obviously a very difficult time for them. Our efforts are continuing to find Arthur Simpson-Kent. Our appeal is to anyone who may know his current whereabouts or can assist us in finding him - we do need to speak to him as a matter of urgency,” he added.
