Following an urgent police appeal in recent days, it has been confirmed that 12-year-old Lois Ulgade from Merseyside has been located safe and well in Liverpool after going missing for two days.

After Lois failed to return home from school on Friday, police launched an investigation into the child's disappearance and with the help of social media shared the circumstances surrounding Lois' last known whereabouts.

Lois, who was last seen on Friday at 2.30pm in the vicinity of her Anfield school, was the subject of a Twitter appeal which ultimately proved successful after the young girl was found the following night.

Taking to Twitter to both update members of the public on the case, Merseyside Police wrote: "We're pleased to say that Lois Ulgalde, aged 12, was found safe and well in Liverpool during the night."

Acknowledging the public for their assistance on the matter, they finished: "Thanks for re-tweeting our appeal."

We're delighted to know that Lois is safe and well.
