Anyone who has been there will know that the dash to the hospital when you’re in labour can be stressful, but spare a thought for poor Anay Rodriguez following her traumatic ordeal this week.

The 18-year-old was on her way to hospital with her boyfriend when their car struck another vehicle at an intersection, in Utah, and they ended up in a rollover crash.

After the crash, which occurred on Tuesday, Anay and her boyfriend were left hanging upside-down in their vehicle, with growing concerns for both their own safety and that of their unborn child.

A police officer monitoring for speed close by responded to the emergency call, and smashed the back window to get Anay out of the car. After putting in a call to the local hospital, an ambulance arrived at the scene to take Anay to hospital.

Recalling the ordeal, Anay told Fox13Now: “We were both freaking out because I couldn’t feel her [the baby] move after the accident. I couldn’t feel her move or anything, not even her heartbeat, I thought.”

Thankfully, Anay and her child were uninjured in the frightening crash, and Baby Ivy was born the following day, healthy and happy.

Anay’s partner and the man in the other vehicle involved in the crash were also uninjured. The new father was given a ticket for a moving violation after the incident.

We are so relieved to hear that everyone is okay after the scary ordeal.
