Johnston Mooney & O’Brien have been forced to recall some of its sliced pans after fears they may contain plastic.

The company called the recall “precautionary” as they worried some sliced pans might contain small pieces of plastic tubing.

They did say how that to the “best of our knowledge” there was no danger to customers who had already consumed some of their product.

The product in question is the 800g “Toastie” bread that displays a best before date of September 29th and would have the codes D27 and E27 on the packaging.

Johnston Mooney & O’Brien have said that anyone who has already purchased the product can return it to their supermarket for a refund.
