Social media has become a key player in everything from legal cases to missing items, and one French woman has made headlines with the message she sent out this week.

Pregnant Natalie Amyot has taken to YouTube and Facebook to share a video message, pleading for help in finding the Australian man she believes to be the father of her child.

Natalie reveals that she was in Mooloolaba, Queensland three months ago when she met a “really cute guy”. While she took his contact details at the time, she lost her phone after flying back to her native Paris, and six weeks later she discovered that she was pregnant.

Now, Natalie – who says she has no family of her own – has flown back to Australia in a bid to track down the unnamed man.

“Today I am making this video because I need your help,” she says in the video which, needless to say, has gone viral around the world.

Since the video entered the public forum, Natalie has been updating her followers via Facebook messages, and it is clear that she is going through a range of emotions.

Admitting that she was “overwhelmed” by how quickly her story has travelled, she wrote: “Am going to go to the same bars/ clubs this weekend to see if he is there! He must see this!”

However, while most people have been supportive of Natalie’s plight, clearly not everyone has been so kind to her.

“Please. I didn’t think it would be on news…I just want to see him again…sorry…I have nothing left. If I don’t find him I’ll go home…I just want to see…If he says no, then ok…Is that wrong?” she wrote, addressing the people who have been sending her “nasty” comments.

We’ll keep you updated on Natalie’s story as her search continues.
