The late Prince’s sister Tyka Nelson has broken her silence on allegations that the family is feuding over how to divide the singer’s estate.

Prince passed away on Thursday, 21st April, after being found unresponsive in his home in Minnesota, but the Purple Rain singer had never made a will.

It is this lack of will that is apparently causing distress within the family; reports have suggested that members of the family have been bickering on how to divide his assets, claims that Tyka insists aren’t true.

The 56-year-old, who comforted fans outside the singer’s home following his death, took to Facebook to make sure everyone knows that there is no bad blood.

“To my knowledge, no one in my family has fought about anything, and least of all me. But I must admit I think it's funny that I’m the one they say, "Stormed out..." or that “We are at war” Me? Us? “Really? Where was I when all that happened?” she wrote.

She also took the opportunity to say that no official memorial has taken place contrary to reports; the singer was cremated not long after his body was released to family.

“Together, the family is planning an official memorial service and public event to take place in the near future. Prince and his music influenced so many people that we feel inspired to celebrate his life and legacy in just the right way,” Tyka explained.

We appreciate the public’s patience and have been comforted by your outpouring of love, support and condolences. We look forward to sharing with the world this celebration of, and farewell to, our Prince. Details will be coming soon.”
