Based in Tralee, Co. Kerry, Alison Walsh creates beautiful hand crafted jewellery using semi-precious stones as well as glass and resin beads. Chains and links are made from sterling silver and some pendants hang from beautifully smooth leather thongs. Her jewellery is simple and elegant and can easily be worn as day wear or for a special occasion. We found that her pieces were all very wearable – nothing too fussy. This is the kind of jewellery that you would find yourself wearing all the time – not hiding at the bottom of your jewellery box.
We particularly liked her Freshwater Pearl Earrings. These pearls are threaded through silver plated earwire and are priced at only €18. Beautifully elegant, we found that these earrings could be worn as everyday wear, but also work with evening wear or even for a bride. They are a little more contemporary than classic pearl studs and would make an affordable and thoughtful gift to suit most tastes and ages. A really versatile piece in any jewellery box.
