Product Review: Eva Dorney jewellery

Eva Dorney makes a ready-to-wear gem and pearl set silver range, which she sells from her home showroom in Windy Arbour, though customers will usually have seen her work at a pop-up shop or fair before calling. Prices for this collection start from €50 for a simple silver and pearl pendant or €125 for a silver and pearl ring and run to about €350 for some of the gold and gemstone rings and pendants. This range is just an introduction to her style of work as the majority of what she creates are one off pieces. Eva creates beautiful pieces that are perfect for every occasion,  from christening gifts to wedding and anniversary gifts and jewellery for all the special occasions inbetween. Eva also remodels your old jewellery, and she will happily make a piece from scratch and source diamonds or gemstones to suit.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Eva also has a second business. Clasped is a new concept in Irish jewellery which allows the wearer to customise their necklace by introducing a different clasp or strand to suit their outfit, mood or occasion. Worn to the front, the clasp is both the closure and the feature of the necklace. Clasps can easily be removed and added to another chain. The idea is that your first clasp and strand are the beginning of a collection that will grow over the years. With each new addition the potential combinations multiply. 

 

The system works using a fitting like you'd see in a lightbulb (only much much smaller) so that with a push and a quarter turn the clasp can be removed and another introduced. Strand prices range from €75 to €695 and clasps from €100.
