Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. has just launched their first-of-its-kind experience for PlayStation3 from SCE London Studios. Using the innovative new PlayStation 3 peripheral, Wonderbook™, Book of Spells will transform the world around you with the next step in augmented reality gaming. It is also the first product to result from Sony’s partnership with Pottermore, J.K. Rowling’s unique and free-to-use website that builds an exciting online experience around the reading of the Harry Potter™ books.

Wonderbook™: Book of Spells comes to life as you read, allowing you to cast spells with your PlayStation®Move Motion Controller which becomes your own magic wand. Go on a fantastic journey to read and learn the secrets of wizardry and the art of spell-casting, just like a student at Hogwarts.

We gave MummyPages mums and their children the opportunity to try out the new Wonderbook™: Book of Spells. Here's what they thought:

"Loved the concept of the book with the game and there was a number of spells that the children could try out. The children loved it and really enjoyed watching themselves on the TV playing the game. I would absolutely recommend the Wonderbook to a friend, I think adults and children of all ages will enjoy this game. I loved the fact that the children could see themselves on the screen and watch what they were doing. I also think this game will help with co ordination and concentration. We loved the Playstation Wonderbook." (Brenda Farrell)

"I thought the Wonderbook was brilliant, really engaged all the children (and adults). My children thought it was an excellent game and talked about it all the way home in the car. I would highly recommend it to friends as my youngest daughter who's 7 really enjoyed playing even though she wouldn't be a big fan of computer games, my 11 year old son was helping her play, so the game would appeal to families of kids with different ages." (Rebecca Kinsella)

"Our children really enjoyed the play station Wonderbook. I loved the fact that it was more interactive than the average console game. I could imagine my children carrying on the game even when the console was turned off. The children loved it too. I did feel a two player version might have been a good idea because they all wanted a turn and from experience its a little calmer if the game is two player. Impatient boys! We had never experienced the play station before and the kids put PS3 at the top of their Santa lists along with the Wonderbook game. I would recommend the game to a friend although I'm not aware of how many more smaller children's title's are available. That might be a deciding factor in us purchasing the console. We had a great afternoon. Everyone got a good turn. They were really happy with their little Wonderbook packs they got when leaving. (Sarah Nolan)
