Due to Storm Emma, public transport systems are experiencing delays and cancellations.

 

Dublin Bus services will not be operating tomorrow because of the 'Beast from the East'.

 

"We apologise for the inconvenience caused however this decision has been made in the interest of the safety of customers and our employees," the statement on their Twitter account reads.

As for Irish Rail, the following services will not be operating today: 5:30pm and 6:12pm Connolly to Maynooth; 4;40pm,6:20pm and 6:55pm Maynooth to Connolly; and 3:10pm Pearse to Maynooth is deferred to 3:25pm.

 

 

Irish Rail's services that are running will be subject to delays.

 

Tomorrow, there will be no Phoenix Park Tunnel services from Irish Rail. As well, on Thursday from 12:00pm to 2:00pm their services will wind down and no trains will operate from 2:00pm Thursday to 12:00pm Friday at least. Other Irish Rail updates can be found here.

 

The Luas will run services tomorrow from 5.30am until 12pm every 30 minutes, but will suspend services by 2pm. More on the Luas' travel updates can be found on their website.

 

Regarding Bus Éireann's services, Expressway services out of Dublin are cancelled. Commuter and rural services in the Eastern Region are also cancelled.

People are advised to stay indoors, and the National Emergency Coordination Group's chair, Sean Hogan, says: "We have not experienced blizzard conditions since 1982, and the reports from that time indicate the serious and life threatening conditions which may be posed by the combination of heavy snow and strong winds."

 

"For reasons of public safety in blizzard like conditions the NECG is advising that peopple should not venture out of doors while the red level warning is in place in your area."
