It has been an exciting day for the Royal family as they celebrate the Queen’s birthday, and Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge chose a particularly lovely way to mark the occasion.
Not only did today mark the Duchess’ first official engagement since welcoming Princess Charlotte, but it was also the first time that Prince George appeared on the famous balcony of the Palace.
In a beautiful tribute to his parents, William opted to dress the little Prince in the same outfit that he wore for his own big moment over 30 years ago.
Side-by-side photos of Prince George in William’s arms, and William in Prince Charles’ arms were shared on the official Kensington Palace Twitter account, with the caption reading: “Prince George’s first appearance on the balcony wearing the same outfit his father wore at HM’s Birthday Parade 1984.”

What a gorgeous way to celebrate the occasion.
Of course, Prince George stole the show at this morning’s Trooping the Colour parade, appearing at the windows of the Palace to cheer on his parents. The tot was photographed beaming with joy and waving at well-wishers outside.
What an adorable little Prince!
