We all know that a rush of adrenaline will often, in times of crisis, result in an individual displaying excessive strength when desperately attempting to save the life of a loved one, and yet this incredible phenomenon never fails to leave us stunned.

One young woman, whose father recently reaped the benefits of his daughter's rush of adrenaline, has been hailed a hero after saving her dad's life following a shocking household accident.

Speaking to Fox and Friends, Eric Hefflemire and his 19-year-old daughter, Charlotte, recalled a harrowing incident which unfolded in the family's garage and could have, if it wasn't for Charlotte, resulted in Eric's death.

Relating the frightening chain of events which unfolded, a sombre Eric told the news station that he had been working on his truck when the jack suddenly slipped and left him pinned him beneath the vehicle.

Even more terrifyingly, Eric said he quickly realised that a subsequent explosion had ignited a fire which was quickly engulfing the family's garage, recalling: "I thought they'd be pulling out a dead body later in the evening."

Opening up about the awe-inspiring role she played in her father's rescue, an incredibly humble Charlotte explained that she didn't think twice before attempting and eventually succeeding to free her father from beneath the vehicle with her bare hands.

What an incredible story!
