We are thinking of a Pennsylvania family this weekend, after an ordeal which saw their seven-week-old tot abducted from them during a shopping trip at a mall.

Little Ashir Simmons was at the King of Prussia Plaza with his family, on Thursday evening, when the incident occurred.

According to reports, the female suspect in the case approached and befriended the child’s mother, and they all headed to the mall’s food court together.

While there, Ashir began to cry, and the suspect offered to take him, to calm him down. At that point, the baby’s mother took a phone call – which is when the suspect seized her opportunity and walked out of the mall with the baby in her arms.

The family immediately contacted the police to report the abduction, and the authorities launched into action to locate the child. As well as stopping cars in the area, police also searched on the ground and even issued an Amber Alert for Ashir.

Thankfully, five hours later, the police confirmed that they had found Ashir, safe and sound. The abductor is now in custody and has been charged with kidnap.

Management at the King of Prussia mall released a statement shortly after, saying that they are ‘relieved’ to hear that little Ashir has been reunited with his family.

SHARE if you are as thankful as we are that this little tot was found.
