The family of a woman who was attacked and killed by a tiger after she left her car to help save her daughter, Zhao, are suing the safari park 2 million yuan (€269,000).

The tragic incident occurred in Beijing’s Badaling Wildlife Park in July of this year when Zhao got out of the car due to either an argument or feeling car sick, and was attacked by the animal.

In a bid to rescue her daughter, the mother got out of the vehicle but was tragically killed.

The family claim that staff did not fully explain the safety instructions before they started the tour before arguing that there was only one employee on patrol at the time.

Zhao’s husband claims the only way staff could scare the tiger off was beeping the car horn.

The family believe the park, which allows visitors feed the smaller animals, should assume full responsibility for the death of the mother and around 70 to 80 percent for Zhao’s injuries.

According to the MailOnline, negotiations for compensation are still ongoing.
