Police in the United States have released heartwrenching footage of a mother chasing an individual who stole her car without realising that there was a child in the backseat of the vehicle.
The incident which occurred at Kids Corner Daycare in the Oak Cliff area of Dallas, Texas yesterday morning depicts the moment a horrified mother realised her car was being stolen from outside her son's nursery.
Despite resistance from the overwrought mother, the driver can be seen fleeing the scene of the crime, and according to police, the woman remained on the bonnet of the car until it stopped some distance away.
Thankfully, the eight-year-old girl who had been awaiting her mother's return after dropping her four-year-old sibling into the nursery managed to escape the moving vehicle and sustained only minor injuries to her hands and knees.
It has been established that the assailant, who has been described as a black male aged between 20 and 25 years of 5’ 5” in height, assaulted the child's mother after stopping before stealing a sum of money from the terrified woman.
Dallas police have released the footage in the hopes that members of the public may come forward with any information they may have pertaining to the shocking incident,
