Frightening footage has emerged showing a group of parents holding up part of a collapsed rollercoaster, to bring six children and another adult to safety.

A bystander captured the footage on her phone, at the Bartow Fair in Cartersville, Georgia, on Thursday evening.

Describing the scene around the Orient Express fairground ride, mum Whitney Castro wrote: “This is why you don’t ride the fair rides! This rollercoaster almost fell over with kids on it! If it wasn’t for some quick adults, this would have ended a lot worse.”

The ‘shaking’ mother went on to confirm: “Nobody was hurt, a lot of scared little kids. This ride was being balanced and held up by boards.”

A statement from the State Fire Marshall’s Office revealed that part of the track collapsed, causing the chaotic scene at the fair. The cause of the malfunction is, however, still unknown.

The ride in question is said to be out of service while repairs and an investigation are carried out.

Thanks heavens no one was injured.
