Sarah Patel is now being hailed as the “bravest girl in New Zealand” after her heroic actions when men broke into her family shop and tried to attack her father with an axe.
The six-year-old was seen charging at the attackers as they threatened her father and an employee with an axe at the electronics shop in Auckland.
The little girl can be seen in CCTV footage chasing after one armed man and grabbing his leg and says she was only “trying to save Jordan”.
Her dad managed to get Sarah out of the stop and to safety after he told the attackers:
“Take whatever you want, just don’t hurt anyone.”
The robbers turned out to be five 16-year-olds who now face charges of aggravated robbery, injuring with intent and breaching bail.
