As millions around the world remembered the victims of the September, 11th terrorist attacks yesterday so too was Saturday Night Live cast member, Pete Davidson who lost his father that day.

The comedian took to social media to pay tribute to his father, Scott in the only way he could; with humour.

“One of my dad’s homies gave me his old dirty ass boots from work and a sick photo of him looking like a young legend!” Pete said in the post. “Apparently my dad wore sketchers how f**king embarrassing!”

The 22-year-old also posted a picture of him and his father with the caption:

“Can’t believe tomorrow is going to be 15 years. Missing the legend!!

“Thank you all for your kind words and support as always #WeRememberThem”.

Pete was just seven years old when the attacks happened.

Scott, who was a firefighter on the scene in New York City that day, ran across the Brooklyn Bridge towards the Twin Towers with five other firefighters to help.

According to the New York Post, the six men went to the Marriott World Trade Centre Hotel where they helped calm the terrified crowds before the building collapsed.
