A photo which depicts an incredibly heartwrenching moment between three young baristas and a recently bereft customer is making waves on social media as the public extend both their support to the young widow and their admiration to the young men who took time of out of their working day to console her.

Recalling the event which is warming the hearts of millions this week, 19-year-old Pierce Dunn, an employee of Dutch Bros. Coffee in Vancouver, told BuzzFeed that a co-worker had informed him that a customer in their drive-thru appeared really upset having just lost her husband.

Upon meeting the customer at the drive-thru window, Pierce recalls having a brief conversation with her which ultimately resulted in a very tender moment between a group of strangers.

"I gave her a drink for free and a few gift cards so that she could come back if she needed anything," he said. "Then, I asked her if she minded if I prayed for her, and I was planning on praying for her when I got home, but then one of my other coworkers reached out through the window and grabbed her hand."

Snapped this picture while waiting in line at the Dutch Bros on 138th Avenue today. Turns out the young lady in line...

Stretching through the drive-thru window in order to reach the grieving customer, Pierce, who was unaware the moment was being captured on camera, recalls praying with the woman for three minutes, saying: "I asked for peace for her, her family, and her husband’s family."

Commenting on the image which has been widely circulated online, Pierce's employer Jessica Chudekits told BuzzFeed: "I saw the photo getting shared online and I thought it was so nice. But then I started studying the photo and I recognised Peirce and Evan and the background and I realised it was my own store!”

Reflecting on the impact the moment had on the restaurant's grieving customer, Pierce said: "The woman was very grateful that there were three people who just cared. If you can bring yourself to understand what someone else is going through, you can show them kindness and make an impact on the world."

According to BuzzFeed, customers, who found themselves touched by the woman's story, have donated gifts and items to the coffee shop in the hopes she'll return.
