Cork singer-songwriter Pa Curran has released a video for his song Unintentional Hero.

The song and video were both created to honour deceased donors as well as raise awareness about organ donation.

The Unintentional Hero project was created as a tribute to Pa’s friend Taidhg Burke Neff, who died last October. Taidhg was also an organ donor who, thanks to his healthy organs, was able to save nine lives.

Pa says he came up with the idea to honour deceased donors in his video while returning home from the funeral of Alan Feely who also donated his organs.

"I was driving back from Claremorris to Bantry and the idea for the video just came to me. I had already been asked to write a song in tribute to Taidgh and there had been a lot of talk about organ donation at both funerals and I thought it would be a way to raise awareness about organ donation."

Unintentional Hero is now No.1 in the Irish charts, and all proceeds from the single are going to the Irish Kidney Association and the Strangeboat Foundation.

You can also help raise money for these charities by purchasing Pa's single Unintentional Hero on iTunes for 99c.
