12 years have passed since the tragic death of TV personality Steve Irwin. The zookeeper died in 2006 when he was stung in the heart by a stingray.
His family have continued to honour him in the years since his untimely death.
His children- 14-year-old Robert and 20-year-old Bindi- have both paid tribute to their dad as today marks the 12th anniversary of his death.
Bindi took to Instagram to share a beautiful family photo, which she simply captioned: “Together Forever.”
The photo of the family-of-four certainly touched her followers who showered her with supportive and loving comments.
“Your Dad is a true Aussie legend and his life was a blessing. RIP Steve. Thinking of your family,” one wrote.
Another reassured Bindi: “Your dad is smile down on you and your family.”
“Gosh, he would be so super proud of you all. Beautiful photo to treasure memories forever,” said one fan.
One user encouraged Bindi to keep honouring her dad: “I grew up watching him. I love watching you growing. Keep on the legacy!”
“I miss him so much and only watched his shows. I lost my father at a young age as well so my heart goes out to you all,” one shared.
September 2 marked Father’s Day in Australia. 14-year-old Robert paid tribute to his late-dad by sharing a photo of the pair of them goofing around.
Robert was a mere three-years-old when his dad died.
He wrote: “Happy Father’s Day in Australia. I feel so fortunate for all of the fun times we got to spend with the greatest dad.”
