A mother, who was left stunned by the actions of a cyclist in south London yesterday morning, has taken to Facebook to share her story and appeal for help in tracing the individual.

Rhiannon Guatama claims that while travelling on the Croydon Road at 08.40am yesterday, a cyclist used his bike lock to shatter Rhiannon's window in an apparent road rage incident.

Offering a possible explanation for his actions, Rhiannon suggested that he may have been expressing irritation at having to struggle to move past her vehicle.

"The cyclist had hit our car with his hand earlier on the passenger side, the only reason I could think he did this, is he possibly felt he didn't have enough room to get through," she surmised.

Sharing a photo of her infant daughter surrounded by the remnants of the shattered window, Rhiannon told Facebook followers: "He caught up again as we hit traffic, he switched to the other side and smashed our car window with his bike lock."

Stunned by his actions, Rhiannon continued: "There was glass over our child. We have a baby on board sign and there was a child sunscreen."

Rhiannon appealed for help from the public by providing Facebook users with a description of the individual, saying he was white, with long blonde hair, between 30 and 40-years-old and was wearing a yellow jacket and cycle glasses.

Commenting on the post which has been shared over 8,000 times since its upload, one Facebook user wrote: "I am a cyclist. This behaviour is totally unacceptable. I hope that the police catch up with him. We aren't all like this. This gives most of us considerate cyclists a bad name."

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police has confirmed that the incident has been reported and is currently under investigation.
