With countless television programmes highlighting the dangers associated with hiring cowboy repairmen, it can be incredibly refreshing to hear a story which paints tradesmen in a positive light, right?

Taking to social media to pay tribute to an individual who reached out in her time of need, Bridget Stevens related an event which unfolded in her Pennsylvania home in recent days.

According to Bridget, she and her sons had returned to the home they share and quickly realised the heating system had broken down – a household issue which Bridget’s husband, Bobby, would normally tend to.

As Bobby is currently deployed with the armed forces, Bridget sought the services of Betlyn Heating and Cooling - a decision which ultimately did much to remind Bridget and her children of the kindness of strangers.

Writing on social media, Bridget told friends and followers: “As he was working on the furnace, we got to talking about Bobby and the deployment. I had mentioned in passing that I tried to figure it out with my husband, but since he's deployed and couldn't see it, he wouldn't know what to do.”

Admittedly concerned about the call-out and services fee, Bridget revealed that she was stunned to receive an invoice which boasted a “deployment discount”.

“He handed me the slip that is in this photo. When I tried to give him any money at all, he said that the $1 was a joke, and to thank my husband for his service.”

What a heart (and house!) warming story!
