Dare we say it - it looks like summer is here.

Slap some shorts and suncream on, this weekend is going to be beautiful!

However, have the raincoat on hand as we are in for an Irish version.

The warm weather starts today, with top temperatures between 18 to 23 degrees Celsius.

Temperatures are expected to be a few degrees lower around coasts and northern counties.

Raincoats at the ready as scattered and heavy showers will grace us this evening.

Saturday will be best in the West!

Style your weekend attire with sunglasses and a hat as it will be 17 to 22 degrees.

However, showers will roll off the Irish sea as the evening draws in, with the possibility of thunder in Leinster and Munster.

Met Eireann has warned of potential spot flooding as those showers could grow heavier.

Sunday sun is expected, with temperatures ranging from 18 to 22 or 23 degrees Celsius.

Central and northern areas will enjoy the best of the weather.

Some scattered showers are due in the morning.

They won't be around for long, becoming more isolated as the day progresses.

We can look forward to soaking up the sun throughout Sunday.

Thundery showers may move in across eastern counties around nightfall.

The good weather is here to stay for the following week, according to Met Eireann.

Though do anticipate the possibility of being caught in the odd thundery shower.

Now, who's up for a 99 cone? After all, it is Friday!
