When she was just 16-years-old, Thandie Newton was sexually abused by a director - it was her first ever sexual encounter.
And talking to The Edit, the Westworld actress has revealed that she has very candidly spoken about her ordeal with her children - Ripley, 16, Nico, 12 and son Booker, two.

"I told them that the first time I ever had any sexual encounter, it was abuse," the 44-year-old said.
"Eventually, my 12-year-old stopped me and said, "Mum, don’t worry. I am way cooler than you were at my age."'
When it comes to sex, Thandie is open and honest with her children, and in the past this has always stood in her favour.
Broaching the subject with her children, the mum-of-three simply said: "Daddy has a beautiful penis, which enters Mama, and these two precious parts of us join together…"
And following an incident in school, the BAFTA-nomiated actress is glad she did it when she did.
"Ripley came home from school, saying, "Mummy, I had to tell Don he was wrong today. Don said sex is when a man makes his willy go really hard and then beats the woman with it," she said.
"Lucky I got to her first."
