While parenting is the most rewarding job we will ever have, there are many challenges that come with it. Parents can find it difficult to take care of their own needs, while also looking after their children. The Journey of Parenting: A Day of Exploration and Support is a day organised to help parents through the challenges they may face, and discussing how they can meet their own needs while caring for young children. The issues that will be addressed at this day include:
  • How you are as a parent and what is your parenting style?
  • What do you find most difficult about being a parent?
  • How do you get your own needs met whilst caring for your baby/young child?
  • Creativity - how can we bring our creativity to our role?
The day will be facilitated by Monica Haughey who comes from a social work background and subsequently trained as a psychotherapist. Her perspective is a holistic one and as a parent of two girls she is very interested in all aspects of parenting. She is particularly interested in how we can do the best for our children while keeping mentally and emotionally well ourselves.

The Journey of Parenting takes place on Saturday 30th June in Dublin City Centre (Venue TBC) from 10am – 5pm. Cost €65 euro (unwaged €50). Group will have a maximum of 8 participants - ideally suits parents of young children (0-11 years).
