While we might associate our children’s wellbeing with less screen time and more time outdoors playing it looks like this app claims the opposite.

Headspace is an app that calls itself the personal trainer for your mind.

With hundreds of hours of content from stress and creativity to relationships and happiness this app is all about teaching meditation skills that you can do for yourself.

And now they’ve introduced a Headspace just for kids.

Creatively called “Headspace for Kids”, the aim is to encourage calm and focus in children by giving them short meditation exercises.

And what’s even more exciting is that it claims to help children fall asleep and wake up peacefully.

“It’s almost as though meditation was designed for kids.”

Co-founded of the app, Andy Puddicombe says the platform is perfect for kids.

“They just ‘get it’ – there is this elasticity and freedom in their minds which allows them to be present in the moment and free from any external thoughts or pressures.

“By introducing meditation and mindfulness at an early age, not only can we build on this and help nurture their mind development, but we are also making meditation simple and accessible.”

With everything from breathing exercises to short meditation tutorials, your kids can explore some of the five themes the app offers including calm, focus, kindness, sleep and wakeup.

SHARE this great app for kids.
