The Donnelly siblings from Moy, Co Armagh, hold the Guinness World Record for being the oldest family on earth.

Between the 13 of them, they boast a combined 1,200 years.

Sean (93), Maureen (92), Eileen (90), Peter (87), Mairead (86), Rose (85), Tony (83), Terry (81), Seamus (80), Brian (76), Kathleen (75), Colm (73) and Leo (72) were awarded the accolade in March of this year.

Naturally, we were curious about the secret to what keeps them young.

72-year old, Leo attributes their combined longevity with something his father always loved:

"The key to it is having a bowl of porridge twice a day. We've always followed Daddy's habit of that nice warm bite before sleep. Porridge at around 10.p.m., and then again for breakfast at 7.a.m – that’s our secret!”.

To celebrate, the Donnelly's have received a year's supply of products from Irish company, Flahavans.

The company says that now that they have found their OLDEST fans in Ireland, they are also on the hunt for their number one fans as part of National Porridge Week.

They are inviting their porridge advocates to share their own personal Flahavan’s story in less than 200 words to be in with a chance of winning and a year’s supply of Flahavan’s oats and €1000 to enjoy.
