It is one of the most important ongoing debates in our society right now, and 33 women have come forward to lend their faces and support to the campaign for the repeal of the abortion ban.

As part of the X-ile Project, this group is calling on the Irish Government to protect the rights of women and hold a referendum to repeal the 8th amendment.

The object of the striking X-ile Project gallery is “to give a much-needed face to women who have effectively been exiled and ignored due to unduly restrictive and oppressive abortion laws”.

The latest additions to the site’s portrait gallery brings the total number of faces to 33 – and the Project is looking for even more women to come forward and lend their support.

With a reported 160,000+ documented cases of women travelling abroad to avail of abortion services, the team behind the X-ile Project is hoping that their powerful campaign will help to bring about reform to our ‘draconian’ abortion laws.
