These Christmas events are the perfect festive treat for all the family this year

Now that the festive season is right around the corner, there are lots of Christmas events filling up our social calendar already!

This time of year, there are always lots of things to see and do for all the family. If you’re looking for something exciting to entertain yourself and the children this Christmas, then look no further.

We have picked out some of the most festive events coming to a place near you over the next few weeks, in the lead-up to December 25. Have a read through what is on offer this festive season, and see if any of these events tickle your family’s fancy:

Santa’s Magical Cabin at Dunnes Stores 

Santa’s Magical Cabin is returning to Dunnes Stores! From November 18 to December 23, select Dunnes branches will be hosting Santa Claus himself. You and your little one will be greeted by a very special elf, before being treated to a private audience with the most important man at Christmas time! At the end of your meeting, your child will be awarded a wonderful gift from Santa, and you will get an opportunity to take a family snap with him. This experience is available in select Dunnes Stores venues in Limerick, Cork, Dublin 1, Dublin 24, Ennis and Portlaoise. Booking is essential, and tickets can be purchased here.

Polar Bear & Penguin at The Ark

The Ark Children's Cultural Centre in Temple Bar is hosting a festive play this year! From December 1 to December 18, children aged 5 and up will delight in Polar Bear & Penguin, a charming play about an unlikely encounter that turns into a wonderful friendship. Written and performed by John Currivan and Paul Curley, everyone will love this tale of love, friendship and understanding. Santa’s Kingdom at Palmerstown House

Santa is returning to Palmerstown House in Kildare! From November 25 to December 23, you and your little ones can take a journey through Santa’s magical kingdom - without ever having to leave the comfort of your car. The kids will love spotting all of the elves, reindeer and carolers. Afterwards, you can park your car and walk up to Santa’s Manor to have a private meeting with the big man himself, before enjoying the winter wonderland spectacles of funfair rides, food markets and all the decorations. Santa Experience at Taylors Three Rock Hotel

Santa is coming to Rathfarnham! From November 26 right up to December 23, families of all ages can experience the magic of the North Pole at Taylors Three Rock Hotel. Enjoy a meet and greet with Mrs Claus, wow in the magical live performances from dancing elves, before getting to meet the big man himself! Little ones will receive a photo opportunity with Santa Claus, which will ensure that their wonderful memory will last a lifetime. Christmas Sparkle at The Royal Hospital Kilmainham

Christmas is coming to Royal Hospital Kilmainham in Dublin! From November 24 to December 18, they will be hosting their Christmas in the Courtyard celebrations for those who wish to celebrate the festive season in luxury with a large group of loved ones. With delicious six courses, and wines selected by Michelin Star chefs, you are guaranteed to be treated to some amazing food and drink. Music will be provided afterwards by bands the Runaways, the Victory Dolls, and Springbreak. And, of course, you will be able to enjoy the spectacle of the incredible Christmas decorations!
