Kristen Miller and her husband Ian are celebrating the long awaited birth of their twins, Micah and Madelyn.
Kristen and Ian were only after enjoying married life for a few months when they were surprised to hear that Kristen was pregnant… with twins!
The pair, being very practical, just wanted the twins to make it to 24 weeks when they would be strong enough to survive outside of the womb.
Well, 24 weeks and one day into her pregnancy Kristen started feeling contractions.
Kristen immediately knew, however, that something with the pregnancy wasn’t right.
The birth was extremely risky but four months before the due date the couple welcomed the first of two, Micah.
Because of the complications with the first birth the doctors wanted to prolong the second for as long as possible.
Hoping for a few hours between births for both the mother and child’s sake the doctors waited patiently for number two.
With no sign of the next baby, Kristen was told to remain on strict bed rest until the second baby decided to make it’s first appearance.
And so she did, for five and a half weeks until she gave birth to baby number two, Madelyn.
