Kids, eh? They don’t miss a trick. And as if we needed any more proof of that, Quincy Police Department in the States has released a hilarious audio recording that is guaranteed to leave you laughing out loud.

An operator at the police station, in Massachusetts, was recently surprised to answer the phone to a five-year-old little boy called Robert, who had a serious incident to report.

In audio that has been shared to the Department’s Facebook page, young Robert can be heard reporting his father for running a red light.

Recounting what happened to the police officer, Robert can be heard saying: “Daddy went past the red light… We had to go to the car wash, and then he went past the red light.”

The policeman then asks to be put on to Robert’s father, who is both shocked and amused when he realises what is going on.

The police officer himself sounds to be in good spirit as the father laughs nervously, then apologises for violating the traffic code.

Sharing the audio - which has, naturally, gone viral – to social media, the team wrote: “Every day we answer numerous 911 calls. Often times, these calls are from individuals who are in need of immediate assistance. Sometimes, it's a simple mis-dial. Then there's Robert's 9-1-1 call…”

As you can imagine, the Facebook community has been left in hysterics over the call, with the majority of people commending Robert for ‘doing the right thing’.

SHARE to give a fellow parent a good giggle this afternoon.
