Catherine St. Germain posted a video on her Facebook page last week that has now been seen over 50 million times.

The Colorado mother tells the story of how her daughter, now 17 years old, was sexually abused two years ago.

Not by a stranger, not by a known criminal but by her husband.

In the video she gave background into their relationship saying she had known him for over 20 years, he was in the U.S. Navy and he was also a police officer for 3 years.

Catherine is urging parents, especially single mothers to share the video to encourage them to check the National Sex Offender Registry.

She also asks that parents educate themselves on how predators choose and exploit their victims.

Catherine told Fox 31 Denver: “I had less than 200 friends on Facebook when I posted this video, I was hoping for maybe 50 shares.”

Well the video now has well over 50 million views and nearly 75,000 shares.

"I keep saying I didn't do anything brave, my kid did," Catherine told KUSA

“My kid did the bravest thing. She spoke out against the person who sexually assaulted her within 24 hours."
