It’s always lovely to report on the kindness of strangers, and this week it is a TK Maxx employee in the UK who has come in for major praise.

Ashley Rogers has made headlines this week after one mum’s very special thank you message to him went viral.

Caroline White was shopping in the store with her seven-year-old son, Seb, who has Down syndrome, when her little one staged a “protest” and refused to follow her down the stairs.

In a move which Caroline says has restored her faith in society, young Ashley approached Seb, engaged him in a conversation and managed to persuade him to go after his mother.

Caroline was so moved by Ashley’s actions that she took to the official TK Maxx Facebook page to praise him and commend him to his employers.

“What touched me was how Ashley sat down next to Seb, so that he was on the same level…I cannot express how much this young man’s actions meant to me,” she said.

“To see him speak to Seb so kindly and concerned, getting down to his level by sitting down next to him and then motivating him to move off the stairs at a time when I was starting to feel the stress rise up inside me,” she added.

She revealed that the reason why she decided to publicly thank Ashley was to inject some positivity into the endlessly negative stream of stories clogging up her newsfeed on a daily basis.
