So it's perhaps no surprise that one little girl from the States went on an emotional journey of epic proportions when her cuddly toy went missing during a recent house move.
Three-year-old McKenzy, who is rarely seen without her stuffed Giraffe known affectionately as Raff-e, was forced to undergo a big move without the company of her beloved friend - something which broke the hearts of her loving parents Nick and Jen.
But when the little girl was finally reunited with her much-loved pal after a frantic search, she learned an adorable lesson about human emotion.
