Yesterday, we shared with you the stunning photo of model Nicole Trunfio breastfeeding her son Zion on the cover of Elle magazine, and while many people applauded the move, one US TV host wasn’t so enamoured.

Today host Hoda Kotb has come under fire for commenting “TMI” [too much information] when the subject of Trunfio’s photos were raised during a segment on her show, which many mums all over the world have taken issue with.

One Twitter user slammed Kotb for her comment, writing: “Breastfeeding photos try to normalise breastfeeding and share a beautiful bonding moment – shame on you for shaming!”

Meanwhile, over on Instagram, another user took a creative approach to calling out Kotb and co-host Kathie Lee on their reactions to the photo.

Drawing on the example from a number of recent news reports in which mums have been asked to cover up with a towel or blanket while breastfeeding in public, the Instagram user edited a picture of the two hosts hiding under a blanket, with the caption reading: “Kathie Lee and Hoda don’t like to see breastfeeding women? Problem solved.”

It seems that many women were offended by the comment. What are your thoughts?
