She gave birth to her first child, a baby boy named Cal, back in May, and TV presenter Maura Derrane has revealed that her son has completely changed her outlook on life.
The presenter, who is married to John Deasy, opened up on how parenthood has changed her in her blog, first1000days.ie.
“It’s amazing how a child completely changes your life. With Christmas just around the corner, I have realised how different I am as a person compared to this time last year,” wrote the 44-year-old.
Maura, who co-hosts The Today Show on RTE with Daithí Ó Sé, added: “With all the ups and downs taken into consideration, motherhood is sheer joy. I never thought that a smiling baby would make me forget about being totally exhausted after being woken from a peaceful sleep at 4am, but it does.”
The star has previously spoken about her “traumatic birth” with seven-month-old Cal, revealing that it took a lot longer than she had anticipated to recover.
We're delighted to hear the Maura is enjoying motherhood with little baby Cal.
