While having the whole world available at your fingertips is one of the benefits of living in this tech-savvy age, it undoubtedly comes with its risks and dangers – and we, as parents, need to keep up with the latest developments.

 

It has emerged that kids and teens are using a ‘hidden’ app on their tech devices, to keep certain photos and messages under lock and key from their parents.

 

The ‘Calculator%’ app, for iPhone and iPad, is downloaded to look just like a regular calculator – but once unlocked with a passcode, it actually contains a treasure trove of files that you don’t want anyone else seeing.

 

Blount County District Attorney Pamela Casey took to Facebook this week to warn parents about the app and what it could be hiding on their kids’ phone, sharing a now viral video.

 

 

Casey reveals that she was contacted by a concerned parent, who had discovered the app on her child’s phone.

 

In a world where our kids are so vulnerable to the ways of online predators, it’s extremely important that we are aware of apps like this. Check out the video below.
