The country rallied around 18-year-old Shauntelle Tynan earlier this week, helping her to hit and exceed her goal to afford cancer treatment in Texas.
The Carlow native, who has been battling multi-system Langerhans cell histiocytosis, had previously issued an emotional plea for help in raising €350K.
In an update on her YouTube channel, Shauntelle revealed that, so far, the public has raised €617K for her treatment.
The overwhelmed teen said: “I am amazed. I never thought this could be possible.”
In a heartwarming twist to the video, Shauntelle left the camera rolling as she broke the amazing news to her little brother and sister.
The adorable pair break into smiles as Shauntelle makes the announcement – and her 10-year-old brother is thrilled and amazed.
“How did we get to that in one day?!” he says, truly shocked.
Shauntelle revealed that any extra money raised through fundraisers will go towards check-ups and further treatment at the Texas clinic.
