Location, Location, Location co-host Kirstie Allsopp has been with her partner and father of her two children for 12 years – but the couple have no plans to marry and her reason is truly refreshing.
Explaining how Ben, who is also dad to Hal, 12, and nine-year-old Orion, had been married before and was reluctant to do it again, Kirstie then said that she too became reluctant.
“I was reluctant to get married because I just think: 'If it ain't broke, don't fix it. There does seem to be a gripping fascination with the fact I'm not married to Ben."
However, the 45-year-old, who is constantly rumoured to be in a relationship with her co-host Phil Spencer despite her long-term relationship, has not ruled out marriage in the future, even if just for practical reasons.
Mum to nine-year-old Bay and Oscar, seven, Kristie told the Daily Mail: “How many people aren't married nowadays? Something like 50 per cent of children are born out of wedlock.”
“I've always said the same thing: there is every likelihood that one day we'll get married, if only for practical reasons. But we're very happy as we are."
