Deciding to undergo IVF is a big decision to make and a very personal one as well.

However, Izzy Judd has always been so bravely open about having IVF in order for her and husband Harry Judd to conceive.

Her candidness is inspiring for women everywhere who struggle with fertility issues.

Yesterday the mum-of-two shared with her Instagram followers a photo from the day she and the 32-year-old McFly drummer decided to go ahead with IVF.

"I held Harry a little bit closer that day, I felt a vulnerability and excitement. I needed him more than ever. For the first day in a very long time, we felt HOPE," the former Escala violinist shared.

"How I was going to cope with the following months was up to me and I chose to put all my focus into looking after my mind. Knowing my body was going to be taken over by the amazing doctors I realised there was so much I couldn’t control, but my mind and my thoughts were in my control."

Izzy touched on how she had to work on her own mental state in order to feel calm about the process, and she hoped her story could help other women undergoing the same process.

"It was my choice how I was going to think about the weeks ahead and being someone who likes to plan and who is a total control freak it took a huge amount of work to CALM down my chattering mind and LET GO," she wrote.

"This is something I truly believe had such a POSITIVE impact on my experience and my reason for wanting to share my experience with you."

"I wanted to look back knowing that I had done all I possibly could. Being positive and BELIEVING in myself in my eyes could only be a good thing."

The 33-year-old noted that visualisation was one of her best tools during this process.

"Of course, there were very tough days and it’s easier said than done sometimes. But on those days I found mindfulness my best friend. Visualising becoming pregnant was EMPOWERING."

Izzy became pregnant after her first round of IVF but sadly miscarried. However, she gave birth to one-year-old Lola after her second round of IVF and their four-month-old son Kit was conceived naturally.

Finally, the mum shared some final words of wisdom for women embarking on the same journey she did:

"To anyone about to start a round of IVF my one bit of advice would be to really think about how you can take care of your mind. Question your plans over the coming weeks and cancel anything or anyone that doesn’t make you feel good about yourself or HAPPY."

"The only thing that matters right now is YOU!"

We completely agree! And to all you out there undergoing IVF, we wish you the very best.
