While most of us mums feel we would know our child by the smell of their hair and the touch of their hand, we don't often give much thought as to whether they could say the same.

In an attempt to highlight the uniqueness of each individual woman, Jewellery giant, Pandora, conducted an experiment between a group of mothers and their offspring.

After a period of tentative steps and gentle touches, these blindfolded children were able to identify their mum from the shape of her face and the texture of her hair.

We're not ashamed to admit it, the results of this experiment brought us (and some of the mums involved!) to tears.

Like the moment between one returning soldier and his little boy, it's hard not to be moved by this footage.

Take a look!
