As you will know by now, today marks Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day. Amidst a chorus of voices sharing their experiences this weekend, celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay has added his own to the mix.

Gordon and his family were left devastated this past summer, when wife Tana suffered a miscarriage five months into her pregnancy.

Opening up in an interview with the Daily Mail’s Weekend magazine, the 49-year-old gave an insight into the traumatic experience and how his family have dealt with their loss.

“The support we’ve had has been unbelievable. You don’t realise until it happens to you how many people are affected. Sadly, it happens every day,” said The F Word star.

Gordon – who is dad to 18-year-old Megan, 16-year-old twins Holly and Jack, and 14-year-old Tilly – went on to heap praise on his wife and loved ones.

“Tana has been amazing. Friends have rallied, and we’ve got through it together, as a family…I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. We were devastated, but thankfully we’re through the worst now,” he said.

Coping with the tragedy as a family unit has also brought the star closer to his loved ones, he revealed.

“You realise how lucky you are, and you reflect on what you have, how fortunate you are with your remaining children; and you remind yourself of what you’ve got,” he added.

We’re sure there are many of you out there who have been through a similar experience and can relate to Gordon’s comments; hopefully, you will seek some comfort from them.
