What are the dos and don'ts when applying blush?

Who would have thought that there is absolutely a right and a wrong way to apply blush? According to experts, the following tips outline the way to get the best results from your blush.

Use the right amount
If you use too much blush you could end up looking like a clown. Keep in mind that the purpose of blush is to make your cheeks look flushed in excitement, to put it bluntly it’s to make you look aroused (as if you’re ready to or have just had sex). The goal should be to look natural and slightly flushed, not painted with flames on your cheeks!

Choose the right colour
This is a very important part of getting blush right. Choosing the right colour can make your skin glow, but the wrong one can muddy your complexion.
Those with fair, rosy skin should use cool, blue-toned pinks. They can even get away with a slightly frosted pink blush.
If you have olive skin, try warm honey or peach tones to complement your colouring. Avoid frosty pinks, which will look gray on your skin. If your skin is darker again, choose burgundies and richer deeper wines.

Put in in the right place
Many people make the mistake of putting blush under their cheekbones. Blush should be put onto the apples of your cheeks instead. You will find these is you smile, they are the roundest part of your cheeks.
