What can women do about losing their hair?

When we think of hair loss, we usually think of it happening to men. But unfortunately, women lose it too, which can be utterly devastating for them. Hair is often a very identifiable part of a woman and losing it can change not only the way others see her but also the way she sees herself. The good news is that there are some hair-loss products for women that can help.

Hair loss (alopecia) occurs mainly on the head but it can also happen on other parts of the body. The reasons for hair loss are not always easy to identify and can include poor diet, stress, hormonal imbalances or an underlying medical condition. Even childbirth can trigger hair loss for some women.

As hair loss can be an indication of something serious, women should get to what is at the core of the problem. If you are losing your hair, go see a doctor. It is nothing to be embarrassed about; doctors have seen it all before.
