Is a perm right for my hair?

Perms have improved a lot since the 80s! They no longer mean frizzy hair and fake looking curls. If you’re fond of curing your hair with an iron or rollers, it might be time to consider getting a perm.

A perm can give you lovely bouncy locks without the hassle of daily curling. Modern day perms can give you a great look as well as making your daily styling routine easier. There are lots of different types of perms to consider, from body boosts at the roots to long, loopy ringlet curls and even relaxing procedures.

You must be careful not to damage your hair with a perm. If your hair is already dyed and chemically treated, it may be the case that adding even more chemicals to it could be a bad move. If you think a perm would be a good idea, make sure you get it done by someone who is a professional. Some salons have stylists on hand that are experts in perms.

Prior to committing to a perm, know what look you want. Think about whether you would like tight ringlets or of you are looking to add body to straight hair. Showing the hairdresser a photo of hair styles you like is a great idea.
